With a background in aerials and circus, in 2018 Alice shifted her focus towards finding ease and joy in movement, working with her body independently of apparatus. She has since expanded her practice to include floorwork, contemporary dance, ballet, theater dance, and breakdance. It was during this journey that she discovered Contact Improvisation.
The absence of strict form, coupled with the need for constant presence, sensitivity, and the readiness to react, captivated her and became her central research focus. For Alice, Contact Improvisation is more than a dance practice—it’s a way to explore human interactions, boundaries, self-care, and how these practices influence communities and lifestyles.
Her ongoing research is also enriched by Feldenkrais, Axis Syllabus, Body-Mind Centering, and martial arts.
Among the many teachers who have inspired her along the way are Chey Jurado, Charlie Morrissey, Frey Faust, Manuela Martella, William Thomas, Defne Erdur, Catalina Aguayo, Alejandro Dutra, Pau Arán Gimeno, Sergey Semichev, Marta Iucci, Valeria Chan, Shannon Conney, Gonzalo Barales, and many others.
Embracing Curiosity workshop: Nourishing the Dance in Contact Improvisation"It is very tempting for a teacher to feel they are in possession of an understanding, that this is their ware which they sell and peddle; yet a good teacher peddles confusion rather than ease, guiding students through a gentle order of questions, witness to their discomfort and fumblings. There are many ways a teacher can teach, but I think the source of this ability is a simple compassion. I sense teaching as a movement or passage on the level of heart."
